With its free smart TV apps for Android TV and Amazon Fire TV, radio.de brings more than 60,000 radio stations from all over the world straight into the living room
Hamburg, 7 September 2023, more than 60% of households in Germany now own a smart TV with an internet connection. With the newly developed apps for Android TV and Amazon Fire TV, radio.de makes more than 60,000 radio stations easily accessible in the living room.
The apps focus on optimized controls designed for navigation on smart TVs. Personal favorites, local stations from the user’s region and the Top100 are always quick to reach. Using the search, the wide selection of stations from all over the world can be explored comfortably from the couch.
The radio.de database covers the full range of stations, from German FM stations to international news and music stations, as well as web radios for every imaginable music genre. This means you can not only quickly stay informed about your own region via the right local station, but also easily enjoy the latest club hits from Ibiza, authentic salsa music from Latin America, the best Schlager or hip-hop from France.
“The TV is still the entertainment hub in the living room. With our smartphone apps for iOS and Android, our users always have the full diversity of the radio world with them. With our apps for Android TV and Amazon Fire TV, developed from the ground up, we are bringing real variety right into the living room. We have specially reworked the app’s controls for the smart TV platforms so that everyone can easily listen to their personal favorite stations,” says Katja Ostrowsky, Managing Director of radio.de GmbH. “Our goal is to offer the easiest access to the whole world of radio. On the web, as an app or on all popular smart TV platforms.”
The apps are available free of charge via the Google Play Store for Android TV (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.radio.android) and in the Amazon App Store (https://www.amazon.de/radio-de-GmbH-Der-Radioplayer/dp/B0098XZHSU).
