With the latest app update for iOS, radio.de offers the best selection in the car for all CarPlay-compatible entertainment systems. More than 60,000 stations from Germany and around the world and over 2.7 million podcasts provide the best entertainment in any traffic situation.
Hamburg, 13 March 2024, the latest version of the radio.de app for iOS brings a comprehensive update to the CarPlay integration. This makes it even easier for listeners to enjoy the wide selection of radio stations and podcasts while driving. More than 800 different car models are now compatible with Apple CarPlay. CarPlay mirrors the content of the iPhone, ensuring the most personalized user experience possible.
The app update offers a fundamentally improved user interface that puts large station logos and podcast covers front and center. This way, users get to their favorite stations and favorite podcasts even faster. Podcast episodes can easily be resumed at the right spot, and the latest episodes of favorite podcasts provide exciting entertainment even on longer journeys.
Displaying local radio stations makes it particularly easy to listen to regionally relevant news. And if you are stuck in a traffic jam, the wide selection of different content at least offers real variety. Gray clouds, construction sites and congested roads are easier to bear with sunny sounds from the Caribbean.
With the large selection of podcasts, users can find suitable content on every topic. The medium unites experts and fans, casual entertainment and detailed information, and creates a deep connection between podcasters and their audience. This way, the next relevant episode is always just one click away.
Downloaded podcast episodes can also be listened to offline via CarPlay. This saves data volume and ensures a varied entertainment program even when network coverage is poor.
“The car is still one of the most important touchpoints between listeners and their favorite stations, and the central device for media consumption is the smartphone. Through the popular integrations of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, we bring web radio and podcasts into drivetime. With the new CarPlay integration, we are making it even easier for our users to access their favorite stations from all over the world. At the same time, with the comprehensive integration of more than 2.7 million podcasts into our service, we provide even more entertainment and deep immersion in the most diverse topics,” says Katja Ostrowsky, Managing Director of radio.de GmbH.
The app update is available free of charge via the App Store.
