- Through the strategic partnership between RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND) and radio.net, the MADSACK Mediengruppe is massively expanding its audio offering. In the future, more than one million podcasts will expand the services.
Hamburg, 8 October 2019 – As of 1 October, the MADSACK Mediengruppe is integrating the audio service of radio.net into RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND). radio.net offers users simple and clear access to a wide range of audio content – from classic radio and web streams to podcasts.
RND is one of the leading newsrooms for supra-regional content. In the future, the two companies of the MADSACK Mediengruppe will pool their expertise, services and reach.
“High-quality journalism is not limited to one type of media. With this partnership, we are setting the course to strategically expand our digital offerings and continue to grow,” says Bernhard Bahners, Chief Digital Officer at MADSACK and Managing Director at radio.net.
As part of the partnership, MADSACK is investing in the expansion of radio.net, thereby building an audio aggregator that combines classic radio, web streams and audio on demand in one service. More than one million podcasts will be integrated into the radio.net offering and will be available free of charge.
In addition, RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND) will launch new journalistic audio formats. The newsroom will produce its own podcasts, which can be heard on the national news portal RND.de and, in Germany, via the radio.de service.
As part of the strategic partnership, from 1 October the total reach of radio.net, 37.2 million visits per month across its web service and mobile apps, will also be reflected in RND’s reach in the IVW reporting.
